Foot Therapy as a Career

Foot Therapy is an open training pathway however most of our Foot Therapists will have prior nursing, healthcare, or medical technology background. The time needed to become a certified Foot Therapist depends on background qualifications and experience.

Our Foot Therapists provide non-complex skin and nail care alongside duties such as sterilisation, dressings, orthotic and footwear fitting, nail restoration, massage and other treatments they are trained and experienced in, depending on the needs of their clinic. Some Foot Therapist have a hybrid role where they also assist with clinic administrative and reception tasks. Being a Foot Therapist is a rewarding and interesting career where no two days are ever the same.

As there is no NZQA Foot Therapy training in NZ Accord Training has developed an individual professional development and training plan which includes online content, third party certification courses, mentoring, and Foot Therapy NZ group membership for continuing education, conferences & collaboration

what do you enjoy about the training?

“That’s a very very hard question to put in a few words, there is just so much! Working along side fabulous podiatrists, getting hands on, getting in there and the practical side. Theres a lot of profesional and personal development after the training so that’s what’s exciting. It’s everything that’s happening now, but its also looking foward to the future of being a foot therapist!  “
